1. Each team entered will play 5 Pool Play Games which are hand picked based on age, grade, competitive level and are customized so that correct seeding can be done for all teams in
all divisions for both the Boys and Girls Divisions.
- There is No Registration Fee for this tournament.
- All Teams participating are invited.
- Teams may apply for an invitation to this event, via our invitation application.
Each will play 1 Championship Game once you have been seeded.
This system has been installed after many years as the Original Hawaii Vacation Tournament, and this system prevents teams from playing other teams whom they are mismatched with,
which allows for really exciting and well-matched Championship Games. This assures a positive competitive experience for each team that attends.
2. TOURNAMENT PLAYING RULES
- National High School Federation rules will be followed with the few exceptions listed below.
- Each player will be allowed a total of six (6) fouls before being disqualified.
- All games will be played in two (2) sixteen (16) minute halves.
- Overtime periods will be two (2) minutes in length. There will be 1 thirty-second timeout in overtime with no carryovers for each team. Each extra overtime period is 2 minutes with no timeouts allowed.
- There will be a two (2) minute rest period between halves.
- Teams will be allowed to call two (2) full timeouts and one (1) thirty-second timeout during the regulation game.
- There will be no dunking allowed in warm-ups.
- There will be a minimum five (5) minute warm-up period between games.
- No game will begin before the time listed on the official game schedule.
- Teams should bring any extra warm-up balls to their games. Each side will be provided 1 warm up ball per team. Warm up balls will be at the scorers tables, please return all warm up balls
there. They will be marked WYBT Warm up.
- First Aid items and ice bags will be at the concession.
- Seeding will be done by pool play record, difficulty of schedule, and point differentials per game. All seeding will be decided by the sole discretion of the Tournament Director.
- Teams listed first are home jersey, and teams listed below are away team.
All Star Games and Contest Rules:
- All Star Games: There will be two All-Star Games. One is the Boys HS Division Game the other is Girls HS, Girls Junior and Boys Junior Game. Each Coach will pick 3 players per team. One will
wear their home jersey and one will wear their away jersey, the third player have him or her bring both. The game is two fifteen minute halves, running clock. There is a one minute halftime.
- Hula Ball Competition. There will be one girls team paired with one boys team.
Each Group is competing for the fastest time. Each group is paired with 4 girl shooters & 1 rebounder and 4 boys
shooters & 1 rebounder. There will be two pairs (2 boys and 2 girls and one rebounder) on the Makai Hoop and two pairs (two boys and 2 girls and one rebounder) on the Mauka Hoop. Each group's
respected rebounder is the only one that can rebound for them. Each shooter will be shooting at 4 basket stations: Right Elbow, Left Elbow, Free Throw, and Top of the Key. After 5 attempts, if the
first shooter hasn't made the basket, their group's next shooter can start shooting at that station. After the second shooter has completed the station or missed five attempts, the pair of shooters
can then proceed to put on one piece of hula item (the item will be at each shooting station). Each time the SHOOTING PAIR completes a station any non-shooter or non-rebounder from their respective team can
help put the hula item on the shooter boy and shooter girl. The Shooting Pair THEN proceed to the next station, until all four stations and all four hula items are on the boys shooter and the girls
shooter. The second pair cannot start until the first pair has completed all four stations. Time will stop when all four pairs are lined up center court and start to hula.
Prizes will be handed out for the two groups that comes in First and Second.
- Everyone who enters the Slam Dunk Contest receives 3 full dunk attempts. Players will be judged by their best dunk. Sign up is right at the scorers table, please sign up before the All-Star Games
starts. Prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place.
- Everyone who enters the Free Throw contest will shoot 5 free throws. Tie-Breakers will shoot 3 free throws. Just line up when the contest is called. Prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place of each
division. Coaches Free Throw will start upon completion on the Girls Junior Contest, so Coaches will shoot at the Mauka Side Basket.
- Everyone who enters the 3 point Shoot-out will shoot five 3 pointers from their choice of location or locations. Tie-Breakers will shoot (5) 3 pointers. Prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place of each division.
Coaches 3 Point Shootout will be held upon completion of the Girls Junior Contest, so Coaches will shoot at the Mauka Side Basket.
- Coaches 2 on 2 is with standard 2 on 2 rules, such as taking the ball back behind the 3 point line upon all changes of possession, call your own fouls, no debates about whether a foul called is valid, 1 point
per basket, 2 points per 3 point basket, and each game is to 11 points, and make it take it. Games can be won by one point. Prizes awarded for 1st and 2nd Place. Only 2 coaches per team, no subs.
